Field Scabious (Knautia arvensis) wildflower

Field Scabious is a light blue/violet/sometimes pink flower that reaches 40 cm to 1 m in height br>and flowers throughout July and August. It has the special characteristic of being able to change colour, when tobacco smoke is blown on to it the leaves turn bright green. Other common names include blackamoor's beauty, pins-and-needles, snake flower, and curly head.
