N Fixer. This is a winter-hardy annual which can be grown on its own to fix large amounts of N, or with westerwolds or rye for the protection of soils over the winter. This is the best legume for over wintering and can be left until May when it produces around 200kgN/ha. Best sown during September and by mid October. Vetch makes good silage too and is often mixed with oats. For this sow 25 kg vetch and 50 kg oats. Limited stock, please call for availability
