Low temperatures that much of the country is currently experiencing suggests that it may still be too early to sow the annual green manures and wild bird seed mixtures. Brassicas in particular may not survive if their seedlings meet a late frost. Now that rain has arrived it may be prudent to delay sowings of these annuals until the weather forecast warms up. However, it should be safe to sow now all grasses, true clovers and large legumes.
