Corn Marigold (Chrysanthemum segetum) annual wildflower

A former weed in spring-sown corn, now rare on farmed land. Large, bold yellow petals that br>flower from June to October. Can be grown on a range of soils but it has a preference for light and moderately acidic soils. Some other common names for Corn Marigold include Sunflower, Golden Cornflower, Yellow Bottle, Yellow Horse Daisy, Yellow Moon and Yellow Ox-eye. In the East, particularly in China, the young shoots are eaten as a vegetable.
