The seventh editon of Insights, the newsletter for the Centre for High Carbon Cropping (CHCx3) is out and availble for download.

In this edition of Insights, CHCx3 Project Lead Dr Lydia Smith of Niab offers her viewpoint on perennial forage leys - capturing carbon and dealing with drought. Farm Carbon Toolkit give an update on CHCx3’s soils and carbon research and the Biorenewables Development Centre describe progress with the project’s value chains research.

We hear from CHCx3 partner, the University of York and there's an introduction to the Centre for Novel Agricultural Products and Energy Crop Consultants.

There's also a feature on herbal ley grower and Cotswold Seeds customer and case study, Rowan Napper, looking at how herbal leys can adapt to drought like conditions.

Published twice a year, Insights features articles and updates on the multi-partner research project, Centre for High Carbon Capture Cropping (CHCx3). This aims to help UK farmers reduce carbon emissions and build farming resilience through diversified cropping, enabling new revenue sources in the carbon market and supporting enhanced value chains for industries.
