Spot the cow 👀…

Based in Wiltshire they said; “After the driest Spring in over a century followed by a drought, growing grass on the farm this year has been challenging and you certainly wouldn’t expect to be turning cows onto a field where the forage is above their heads. However in Spring 2023 we planted a species rich grass and legume mix from @cotswoldseeds into a 14 acre field that had endured repeated arable cropping.

This year the chicory has grown like a forest - putting down deep roots to access the moisture deep down in the soil and acting as a canopy to protect the other species growing beneath it, such as Birdsfoot trefoil, burnet, sheep’s parsley and a range of meadow grasses. It is very exciting to see livestock wading in.”
