Herbal leys - delivering livestock performance and environmental improvements

In association with AHDB, this free webinar will involve a panel discussion featuring a conversation between Sam Lane (Cotswold Seeds), Paul Muto (Natural England), Professor Chris Reynolds (University of Reading), and Rob Richmond (Dairy Farmer).

The panel will discuss the impact of herbal leys on animal performance and soil health as well as sharing their experience of establishment and management including:

  • How to select and grow
  • Animal performance
  • Herbal leys in agri-environment: lessons learned and moving ahead

A herbal ley is a diverse seed mix of grass, legumes and herbs.  They offer opportunities to improve soil health, structure and drainage and usually include nitrogen-fixing legumes, which are high in protein.  Our panel will share their knowledge on herbal leys and will be taking questions throughout.
