Dan Bown of RA Bown at Northfield Farm in Worcestershire contacted us over the Easter weekend to let us know about his crop of westerwolds ryegrass. The crop was sown in the 3rd week of October, via min till cultivation, after spring barley. It has had no spring fertiliser and despite less than ideal conditions it produced a very good leafy crop, almost waist high in places, which was very welcome in the face of shortages due to the 2018 weather.
