Species of the Week: Forage Rape

Posted: 7th January 2019

Species of the Week: Forage Rape is a quick growing, very palatable, protein rich leafy brassica which provides winter forage. It’s also a useful break crop for arable rotations and between grass reseeds to reduce pests and disease. For the first time this year, we are stocking a newer variety called Interval, a hybrid of forage rape and kale, which offers very high yields. We’re still stocking Hobson which consistently performs well with very good disease resistance and high digestibility.
