Ploughing for Heritage Wheat

Posted: 18th September 2018

Yesterday afternoon we ploughed up two acres of herbal ley for heritage wheat which will be sown next month. This is the fifth year of our rotation and it’s not the first time we’ve grown heritage wheat. We trialled it on a small scale last year, but and are now multiplying up the seed. The plan is for the heritage wheat to be made into bread for the local area, adding value to basic commodities, demonstrating diverse farming and providing an enterprise opportunity for a micro-business. . es at Honeydale.

About Us

It's always been part of our vision to have a farm as an extension of the Cotswold Seeds business and in 2013 we bought Honeydale Farm, one hundred acres in the Cotswolds. During the past couple of years we've been making huge progress on the farm and this blog was set up to share this progress with our friends in the farming world.
